Why do I think I have the answers?
I have worked in the standby power industry for over 35 years. During that time I worked for many of the major manufacturers, including Generac, Onan, and Caterpillar. I also worked for some of the minor companies like Libby, Coleman PowerStation, Eagle-Pitcher, and Magnetek.
In addition, I have owned and operated a successful standby generator repair company since 1983. This gives me, and my technicians, a lot of hands-on experience with a large variety of systems. We service and repair any brand, many of which have long been out of business like Libby and Magnetek.
When I started in the business, my job was liaison between the manufacturers and the engineering community. It was a great experience to work with many really talented engineers and learn how the equipment was designed and what the customers expected of it.
This exposure to the industry has allowed me to amass a large library of technical manuals and other information which I can make available to those who join our on-line organization.
I also began a training program in the ‘90s. I have conducted training for telephone company technicians, building inspectors, fire marshals, nursing home associations, federal health care inspectors, municipalities, state government agencies, and many others. Nobody knows the codes relating to standby generators better than I do.
